92.3FM IFFR Series: ‘La Source des Femmes’ Review

On the 5pm show at 92.3FM, DJ Nabs does her bi-weekly film recommendations in spirit of the upcoming IFFR event. In this show, DJ Nabs reviews one of her all-time favorite films, La Source des Femmes, a 2011 French film set in rural Morocco. It revolves around a humbling feminist movement against sedentary men who do not contribute their share of labor work, provoking a “love strike”. DJ Nabs applauds this underrated film for being “fearless” in acting, tackling cultural issues, and dispelling ignorance amongst religious critics. She also discusses about the media’s relationship with feminism and its various narratives.
