Rotterdam temperatures reach historic highs

Rotterdam has experienced unseasonably warm weather in the past week, particularly on the weekend of March 8th and 9th. Temperatures reached 19 degrees with many hours of sunshine.  Students at Erasmus University took advantage of this unexpected warmth by studying for upcoming exams outside, getting together at the nearby lakes and park or simply enjoying a drink outside.

The temperature on Sunday was warmer than in cities such as Rome, Milan, Madrid and other European cities that generally enjoy a slightly warmer climate.

After a winter that was not necessarily very cold, but very windy, the early sunrise and late sunset was a welcome change. The weather may or may not continue, but for now, the people of Rotterdam will enjoy each minute of sunshine like it is their last.
