Rotterdam: Library honours photogtapher

From March 3rd  until March 30th visitors of Rotterdam’s Central Library will have the opportunity to take a look at a photography exhibition called “Fabulous Iceland”. On the 6th floor of the building, people can find black-and-white portraits of contemporary Icelandic writers taken by photographer Kristinn Ingvarsson. With the help of journalist Petur Blondal, the images are accompanied by the writers’ short individual reflections on those literary traditions of the country that have inspired their life and work.

According to the Central Library’s official website, the exhibition has previously been held at the European Parliament and the European Commission in Brussels.

There is no entrance fee for the exhibition. However, what may take away from some of the enjoyment of visitors is the fact that the photographs are displayed in a quiet area in the library thus not allowing for much interaction.
